Urban Agriculture Tour

In August of 2010, the University of Minnesota Extension, the Minnesota NCR-SARE program and the Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture collaborated to host the 2nd annual tour of urban agriculture projects in the Twin Cities area.

Participants of the tour included both learners and teachers convening to share their expertise with the rest of the group. Amongst the objectives of this tour was the ongoing importance of bringing people together around urban farming in an attempt in deepening knowledge, constructing new ideas, and bringing attention to collective resources and the ongoing need to understand the impact and opportunities of urban agriculture on the greater metro area.

In 2010, the tour focused on urban agriculture enterprises and address land access issues. The stops represented a range of entrepreneurial efforts both in terms of scale and stage of development. If you would like further information about the urban ag tour, would like to be included in a future tour, or would like to organize a similar event in your own region, contact the event organizers (listed below.)
